You grant YouWriteOn.com and its affiliates and sublicensees the right to use the name that you submit in connection with such content, if they choose.

YouWriteOn is part of the British Library Archiving Project, which from time to time takes a snapshot of the YouWriteOn site. The project's aim is to select sites to represent aspects of UK documentary heritage and as a result, they will remain available to researchers in the future. Members grant us permission to display/copy their work as part of the archiving project's snapshots of the website over different periods of time.

YouWriteOn's aim is to help members develop their stories and creative skills, and by using the site you agree that we may utilise story reviews, including member and professional reviews, and other forms of feedback about your creative writing, to help members develop their own writing. 9. Member Warranty
You represent and warrant that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to the content that you upload or post; and that, at the time that your content or material is submitted to YouWriteOn.com: (i) the content and material is accurate; (ii) use of the content and material you provide does not breach any applicable YouWriteOn.com policies or guidelines and will not cause injury to any person or entity (including that the content or material is not defamatory). You agree to indemnify YouWriteOn.com and its affiliates for all claims brought by a third party against YouWriteOn.com or its affiliates arising out of or in connection with a breach
by you of others copyright or a breach of any of these warranties. You grant YouWriteOn.com the right to help publicise you and the site through your writing, and to display your writing on the site.

    10. Professional Critiques and The Book of The Year Award
Each month, the five highest rated authors will each receive one free critique from either a professional author or a literary agent. YouWriteOn will decide which author will receive the critique from which literary professional at our discretion and YouWriteOn at its discretion may post the professional critique in the reviews section for members' chapters so that all members may view and benefit from literary professional opinion. Professional critiques will be awarded for opening chapters of books between the word length requirements listed on the site. Only one professional critique will be awarded for a set of opening chapters, including revisions of that set of chapters. Professional critiques will not be awarded for follow up chapters e.g. later chapters of a book, this is because literary agents and publishers consider opening chapters as submissions and YouWriteOn conforms to this standard. Follow-up chapters for this reason cannot feature in The Top Ten and members whose follow up chapters enter the Top Ten will be asked to make sure their word length is outside the Top Ten requirements to feature. YouWriteOn will ensure this requirment is met if the author is unable to comply. 'Follow-up chapters' are qualified as text from a story which does not begin at the very beginning of a story. It is very useful to get feedback for follow-up chapters, however, so in our next development stage before December 2006 there will be a function where members can indicate if there chapters are follow-up chapters so that writers can still get feedback for their chapters but not feature in The Top Ten. The author with the best opening chapters at the end of the year, judged by the youwriteon literary professionals from Best Seller Chart entries for 2006, will win the site's Book of the Year Publishing Award 2006. The Book of The Year Award is awarded solely on the decision of YouWriteOn's literary professionals. You accept that no correspondence will be entered into on the result. The winner's book is intended to be available to order from booksellers such as W.H.Smith, Waterstones, Barnes and Noble and Amazon either through their websites or through their instore ordering services. From October 1st 2006, Best Seller Chart members will be asked to do 3 assignment reviews per month until the Award decision is announced if they wish to be considered for the Book of the Year Award. The aim is to help all members benefit from the knowledge and experience of highly rated members, as well as reviewers benefiting through the process of reviewing others. All Book of the Year Award winners and all members are free to be represented by who they wish and published by who they wish. Our publishing professionals who provide free critiques for highly rated writers each month include editors for Curtis Brown and leading publishers such as Bloomsbury.

    11. Correspondence with YouWriteOn.com

Conditions Relating to the Sale of Products and Services to You
This section deals with conditions relating to the sale of products by YouWriteOn.com to you.

    17. Product and Service Ordering
When you place an order to purchase a product or service from YouWriteOn.com, we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order and containing the details of your order. Your order represents an offer to us to purchase a product or service which is accepted by us when we send e-mail confirmation to you that we've dispatched that product to you (a Dispatch Confirmation E-mail). That acceptance will be complete at the time we send the Dispatch Confirmation E-mail to you about the book or other service or product that you have chosen to purchase.

    18. Returns
YouWriteOn.com cannot provide refunds for eBooks and printed books. This is because YouWriteOn.com enables authors to self-publish, and the company cannot accept responsibility for the quality of the content (including, but not limited to, grammatical format errors or spelling errors) in eBook or printed books, or in their design, story content, or overall appearance. The Site’s authors prepare, approve and are responsible for the visual presentation and content of each item they publish or sell through us. You can peruse sample chapters of ebooks, if available, and should be aware that sample chapters may not be an indicator of the overall quality of the complete ebook that you purchase. It is also the ebook customer's responsibility to check how many pages are in the ebook for sale - which is displayed on the ebook shopping basket and sales pages - to ensure that you are happy purchasing the completed length of the ebook for the price displayed. Our staff does not monitor and does not assume responsibility for checking individual content prior to publication through our web site as authors maintain responsibility for proofing their own manuscripts. By purchasing an ebook or printed book you are aware that these conditions apply and that new authors’ content may not be of a standard which is as satisfactory as books published by traditional publishers available in bookshops, and that refunds are not provided for reasons relating to book content. As Authors proof their own book content, YouWriteOn.com cannot govern and is not responsible for the content provided. Though we will of course remove objectionable material when brought to our attention, by using this website you agree that Authors and not YouWriteOn are responsible for Author content, and accept that YouWriteOn.com is not responsible for the acts or omissions of users on the website.

Any books you buy through third party bookseller sites, for example, Amazon, will be subject to their conditions of use and sale. Amazon offer a 30-day refund guarantee, however, you should view their site for the conditions of the guarantee. You should also contact or look at the help pages of any third-party seller to determine their policy on purchase issues.

    19. Pricing of Products and Services and availability
We list availability information for products and publishing services sold by us on the website, this is included on product and services information pages. Beyond what we say on that page or otherwise on the Site, we cannot be more specific about availability and times of service. Please note that dispatch and publishing estimates are just that. They are not guaranteed dispatch or publishing times and should not be relied upon as such.

Conditions Relating to Both Your Use of YouWriteOn.com and Sales to You

Our liability to you or any third party, and the liability of our parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents and employees, in any circumstance is limited to the total fees you have paid to us in relation to the listing or other service offered giving rise to liability.

    23. Electronic communications
