Can i ask if giving away your book for free actually boosts your sales in the long run? I know a few people now who NEVER pay for a book. They only download freebees. If it is rubbish they just delete it, but often find a gem. As they pay nothing for it in the first place it is no problem.

No wonder writers can't make money.

But if the next book is costing something, then they might want to read that too.

the couple of people who I spoke to wouldn't, because there are plenty more readable freebees.

Does it not undermine all the hard work put into writing a book to give it away for free? I am thinking of putting a few of my shorts on for free, just to give people a sample of my work - but a whole novel?

Thank goodness not everybody are like the couple you know. There are plenty of people out there who download paid books as well as freebies.

I downloaded a freebie from a new author for instance, and I enjoyed the book so much she is now one of my favourite authors plus I tell everyone who are looking out for new romances her name.
