I notice on kindle forums, that some people promoting their own work make claims such as , 'My book has been flying up the amazon charts'
Um, how do you know how well your book is doing in the Amazon charts? How can you even see the Amazon charts? Call me stupid, but I can't find a link at all.

Probably something the kindle forum spoofs about, katarina. Have you a stutter?

I think the skipper of the Costa Concordia was following the last copy.

Katarina, I'm sure one of the many YWO members who have kindled their books will explain what stats may be available to you on your account, but look at any book's page and the last item under Product Details is a list of its position in various charts.

Oh no, I sit corrected. You can simply Google Amazon Book Charts.

Bradshaw, Watson and Morpurgo are the top three, the latter currently released on film.

Worth's Call The Midwife is at 7 and 10 - oddly, which devalues the chart as an accurate assessment on writing. But then it's all about sales there.

The Amazon chart ratings/rankings are on the book page! Click the books link and scroll down to just above the review section and there they are! Click on any of those ratings and it will take you to the appropriate chart for the books genre. There are charts in every genre you can think of. Also, kindle authors get hourly updates for sales, so it's easy enough to keep track. Hope that helps.

PS: Just checked your book and it's not charting yet. You need to get some tags on there and then ask people to tag and like it and tweet directly from the Amazon page as part of your marketing plan. People need to know it's there so they can buy it. It's a good price, lovely cover with some good reviews from the paperback version. It needs a bit of help to get it kick started. If you would like to join our Indie Kindle group on facebook to help with promotion, just let me know. You need to be on facebook first to do this. There are lots of members from here who've joined us recently. Pam.
