Many congratulations to Bob Burke who developed his novel The Third Pig Detective Agency on youwriteon and was one of the winner's of our inaugural book of the year awards. Previous youwriteon literary professional Michael Legat, former Editorial Director of Corgi Books and later of Cassell, loved it when he critiqued it and predicted big things for the eponymous pig. (Not often you get to use the phrase 'eponymous pig' in a sentence) Bob achieved a book deal with Harper Collins for his novel, and now has been signed up for a further two books.

I signed a contract for two more Third Big books recently. The Ho Ho Ho mystery is due in November and the third (as of now titled The Curds and Whey Mystery) is pencilled in for the middle of 2011. It’s all go (at last).

Well done Bob!

Bob also did a great reading at the 'On The Nail Sessions' here in Limerick this month.
