YOu have 8 reviews. YOu can delete a comment.
Is it a lottery?
Or, no matter which one you choose to delete, is it always the lowest scoring comment that is removed vote wise?
I ask, because much of the time, I don't know what someone has scored for me...

When you remove a review, you remove that review and its scores. Although it says somewhere the lowest scores are removed, that function is no longer available. The first four scores are a mystery for everyone, as you don't see them until the fourth comes in. I recommend starting a spread sheet and each time a review comes in, write down the star count. You should then see each time what the reviewer has scored. Unfortunately, for you at this point, unless the reviewer tells you what they scored you there's no other way to know. If you've not been keeping score then you're going to have to make an educated guess. In my opinion, hold on to you remove function. You're at number two. How high do you need to get? Keep score from now on and hold the remove for if/when you get a low rating. Hope this helps.

Sorry, just went and double checked - you're at number three. Still very, very respectable.

Indeed Toscka, as Lisa quite rightly recommends, keep that 'get-out-of-a-fix-quick' removal option unused until it's absolutely necessary! They only come around every eight reviews, and on a site as diverse as this one there is always going to be someone who runs athwart of your style, quite possibly marking you down as a result.

thanks, it's been a long time since I've been on here recently. I remembered there was an automatical deletion of the lowest score thing, but it's clearly been changed.
One more question: do the top ten get a commentary?
or just the top 5?
And is it random house or agents?
I have an agent, so probably ought to check with him that it's ok to have someone else look at it.
Thanks for all your help

Thanks for all your help Just the top five, or anyone who has amassed 25 days in the top-ten during three months since the upload has been active. As for who does the pro-crit - pot luck I'm guessing. Might be wise to check with your own, though that shouldn't be a problem, as I'm sure they're aware of what YWO is. The pro-crit is after all only a complimentary commentary, not an offer for representation. Oh yeah - best of luck!

Coming in about 6 to 8 weeks the system will highlight the lowest scoring review, plus a host of other changes, including what we hope are an innovative couple of changes to increase further the amount of reviews.

Ah, YouWriteOn - but do we want the 'lowest scoring' review highlighted? Perhaps we want the review removed that will improve our score the most - far from the same thing!

Ah, YouWriteOn - but do we want the 'lowest scoring' review highlighted? Perhaps we want the review removed that will improve our score the most - far from the same thing! Yes, this is true. Sometimes a low score falls outside the norm and will be ignored by the system. A piece that has 4s and 5s won't be affected by one score of all 2s, but a reviewer giving all 4s will affect its position quite considerably. The important score to remove would be the one that creates a bridge between high and low scores, as I understand it, with my tiny woman's brain.
