I've recently bought, for a the price of six coffees, 'Lectures and Papers on the History of the Reformation' by Moore, tutor of Keble College Oxford, published 1890. 500 pages of scholarship to sift through as I research for the next historical fiction.
It has a cracked, but noble, binding; spine almost gone; a buff library plate with the legend: Borough of Launceston Library. So far, I've not seen any minute specks on the move. The pages within have yellowed to the colour of my last labrador. The book smells a little bit and reminds me of that old tail-wagger.

You don't get any of this from an eBook.

Ten quid. This is Whitby, not Tunbridge Wells.

Let's hope the sight and smell of your research triggers a great new story. Seems as though it's coming along nicely, already.

Whitby? Shouldn't you be channeling Bram Stoker & writing updated vampire yarns he'd approve of? You know, like high schools and glitter and such?

Oh ... right, things are a lot more expensive in Northern Ireland.

Good perusing.

I was 'busy' in the bathroom and, having finished what I was doing, I reached for the loo paper which, to my consternation, had all been used up. Bloody kids! The house was empty and I was not expecting anybody home for several hours. Fortunately, I had with me a paperback edition of Kazuo Ishiguro's 'Never Let Me Go' which, I recall, I had purchased on a '3 for £10' deal at Waterstones. The pages, torn in half, were just about of the right size and strength (though absorbency could have been better).

You don't get that from an eBook!
