Hello everyone, my second post in a day, I'm really getting the hang of this message board now.

Okay, so I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a list of short story or novel competitions for 2010? I've never entered one before, but thought it's about time I did.

So, if you know of any good ones or somewhere I can find a list, please let me know.

Cheers!

You could also try www.jbwb.co.uk/writingcomps.htm

The Jacqui Bennett website also has details of markets, agents and lots of other useful info.

If you know anyone who subscribes to Writing Magazine ask it they have the current list of competitions. Writing Magazine publishes an annual list of, mainly British, competitions at the start of each year.

I hope you find something that appeals to you.

The current copy of free e-zine "Word With Jam" has info on page 37 of several comps running at the moment.

Sign up for your copy at www.wordswithjam.co.uk

It's free, bi-monthly and is packed with good articles, tips and amusing stories from many published writers.

This is a good one:

It looks a bit eccentric but there's some good stuff on there.

Thanks for your kind words about my website, JRance. I hope things are going well for 'The Worst Best Man' - I remember reading it a while back and finding it really funny. Best wishes, Clair

Thanks Claire (name's Jonathan by the way). The Worst Best Man is going well, still editing and working through some kinks, but hoping to get it finished this year and submitted to agents! Thanks again.
