Our chapters of Coloured Vapour now have 8 reviews with an average 4 stars. (And thanks to ALL our reviewers, including the one we removed)

Chart Position still shows as 'pending'.

I (that's me, the Copey half) can't remember what our average was when we slipped briefly into the top ten with 'Eternal Obsidian' (now re-titled The Forever Franchise) some few years ago, but is 4 stars not good enough anymore to chart?

We're not even showing as getting into the Top 70, let alone the Top Ten.

Am I fundamentally misunderstanding something here, or does that average score have to be as near as dammit to 5 stars as you can get, in order to chart?

You're at number nineteen. The chart position sometimes takes ages to appear on your page so you just have to scroll down the chart.

Beth
PS Don't know if it still applies but lately, four reviews has been enough to enter the chart - although not the TT. Look forward to reading it at some point.

I have a story yo-yoing between no. 10 and no. 15 with a score of 4.4, if that's any help. But it all depends on what the other entries have, maybe some months you need more/less to hit the top ten. Not sure why that story hurdles 11, 12, 13 and 14, but the whole scoring/standard deviation thing is a mystery to me, so I just always delete the lowest scoring review, that way I don't have the 'less positive' comments loitering on my page... call me superficial...

What a difference a day makes. Congratulations Gemma - I just spotted Frank at Number 2. I think consistently good reviews is what sends people's work into the Top Ten and here we have a point in case.

I'm really pleased for you and your work deserves to be ranked as high as it is.

Thank you Safia. Your review actually spurred me on to get a few more credits and see what would happen, after the story has been gently tweaked as a result of all the feedback on YWO. Great site, addictive forum! Back to work now...

That's the one! And much of the tweaking was thanks to your perceptive comments. You are the man to go to for POV advice! I'm beginning to understand how nuanced it can be, and how steadfast you have to be in seeing, thinking and writing from only one character's POV (at a time). So thank you.
