Into Thin Air has now reached number 2 in the Waterstones short story list (ebooks), which is amazing.

I think I'm here on a begging mission as much as anything, but if you felt like spending £1.12 on it, I'd be very grateful indeed. I'd like to knock the erotica from the top spot.

What you'll get for your money isn't much - it's a 2000 word story, but it is a pretty good one. It's a little, querky romance in my mind.

It was actually posted here for a while for comments - and I took them on board. I wonder if it's still around - I'll have a look.

Thanks for your help in the writing and hopefully in the chart race.

The story's no longer on record, but I did have comments that gave me a lot of confidence (as well as one reader who didn't care that much for it).

Well, it's no longer number 2, but it's still hanging in there at Number 7.

Thanks to anyone who's helped keep it there.

Here's a review from the Online Review (magazine of the Scottish Law Society) just in case anyone feels a little romantic or vaguely festive:

'an arresting short story of a couple who unexpectedly meet, describing their brief encounter and tantalising us with what might have been. Brief, sharp, crisp but fully engages that other area of storytelling, the power of imagery and imagination.'
