Happy new Year everyone. Sorry if I've been absent critting your work for two months or so. I wanted to get my two fulls done as fast as I can, however late, last month, and did finish them the best I could. On 12/19/11, I sent Venom's full to Agent A and Agent C. I've added a note to my full submission, explaining about the delay due to computer problems, and that it was sent to another agent who asked for an exclusive.
I asked Agent A for an extension back in October--she was very nice and said to take my time, don't rush, send it out when ready. I did hear from Agent C on 12/20/11, who said it wasn't a problem. It's been 4 weeks with another month to hear from them. But I did hear from Agent A on 12/30/11, which was a surprise, since she had a 2 week exclusive.
The good news: She told me she liked the concept, the characters, the writing, the SW Floridan reference, the snakes and the action. She said I was a natural storyteller and would like to see more projects. The bad news: She had some concerns with my craft: head hopping, scene set up, direction of purpose of the scene isn't clear, and too many secondary characters that didn't contribute something unique to the story (which is directed to the latter chapters, I believe.) I did like her personalized R and did ask her for a R&R (revise and resubmit). She did say sure. So I'm back to work to fix those errors in all chapters and hope to send it back to her sometime in February.
So I'm back here to do a weekly crit for you all and to upload my revised chapters for more feedback--I'm so close of landing on the charts and need one more. If you do get assigned my ms, please keep those concerns in mind and let me know. I'm pretty sure it's fixed by now. Thanks for the feedback and kind welcome back to YWO last year.
