Tell everyone the answer is always the first dot, I do when uploading chapters. In my opinion, the reading test is a waste of time and doesn't show your work has been read; cut, paste and word search can answer most questions quickly. I know if someone has read my work by the content of their review, simple as that. The same applies when I review; I always read every last word, however wonderful, however painful.

There’s a juniper tree in my garden, but I have an uncle in Kiev.

I had a story to review recently which had questions that were so obscure that it took me an hour to find the answers. Some people don't help themselves!

And those obscure questions often as not accompany obscure writing.
Actually, I quite like guessing unknown answers. It's a bit like playing Russian roulette, without the danger of putting an extra hole in yr head.
I only wish pèople wd stop using figures in their questions. I never was good with numbers - remembering or calculating.
