Copy and paste your text (book) into: www.wordles.com, and it will come back with a word cloud that tells you which words you use most of i.e. that, was, like, etc. The larger the word, the more you use it.

You can make it part of the narrative for one thing

Timellis, I just love Wordle. It's a really useful tool. I discovered I used 'back' and 'around' a LOT, where it was quite unnecessary.
