Quote: pink rose, Monday, 1 Jun 2009 19:51Just one more question: I understand that an author cannot receive a professional critique twice, for the same opening chapters, but is it possible for an author to receive a second critique for a different novel opening? They certainly can.

Answers in bold. Quote: Cinnamon, Monday, 1 Jun 2009 20:19Ted I'm confused! Firstly, does this mean that Gillian, Martyn, Melissa and all the other professional reviewers won't be participating any longer? They will continue to participate in the paid critique service but will no longer critique the top ten each monthSecondly, does this then mean that instead of the top 5 novels receiving crits from one of the usual team of professional reviewers: - the top 3 novels will be given detailed reviews by editors from publishing houses. Yes- the rest of the the top ten will receive something less detailed, but will still be read by said editors? Yes

Oh this is fantastic! Thanks for getting back to me, Ted. It's great to know there is the opportunity to get future novels critiqued. This is wonderful motivation - I will be very busy indeed!

so those of us who have had a prof. crit. before but didn't make the top 5 to move on to the best seller list can still strive to get into the top five, we just won't get anymore professional reviews? I mean, we still have the best sellers chart, right?

If your last professional critique was six months ago then you can upload afresh and potentially requalify for a professional critique in the Top Ten Chart again. This gives new writers opportunity for publisher feedback, but also allows a decent amount of time to elapse for writers who previously got a critique to develop in the light of their professional feedback. Looking at writers who have developed well after a professional critique, it seems a good idea so as to give further opportunities.
