Sorry it's not a link, I still can't get the hang of that.

Anyway, they are the new digital arm of Harlequinn. Whilst they seem to major in romance there is a long list of other genres for which they accept submissions. No advances, just royalities, but you pay nothing hence it is not self pubbing and your work goes through the traditional aceptance and editing processes.

No YA or non-fiction.

There you go Babylon: Carina Press

It seems that e-books are getting a big boost from far more publishers now. I got an mail yesterday from my own, a long, long mail about this and how well things are picking up.

It's also an area that publishers keep an eye on to scout for new writers for publication in the traditional medium.

This is really interesting Babylon. I wonder how I'd get on with sending my first novel (120,000 words). It was publsihed by Authorhouse but I have cancelled my agreement with them and am free to send it elsewhere. The book is in several libraries and has sold well over the internet. It's a family saga set in the 30s and 40s and I have just finished the sequel (100,000 words) which covers the 50s. I've looked at the website and they don't say whether or not they accept previously published work. I think I'll get in touch. It may be well worth while, especially as there are now two books about the same family. Will let you know.

It looks like they're the e-book part of a conventional publisher.

A lot of the earlier e-book producers started with reprints of since remaindered books from the regular publishers, so it should be no problem.

Hi all

I went onto the website last night and e-mailed them asking if they were interested in self-published books. I listed the ones I had published through YWO with a brief synopsis of each.

I had an e-mail this morning asking me to send the first manuscript so that they could assess the story. I will have re-jig a few things first and send it next week, but they appear to be willing to consider us which has to be a plus.

I might be rejected once they've read the manuscript for any number of reasons, but who knows....

They make a point of saying that they are not publishing books in paper form 'yet' but the inference is that they might in the future.

Good luck to any of you out there who are considering sending something to them. Jeannette
