Another avenue for authors of historicals: Historical novel reviewsYou'll submit your work (preferably a hard copy, but some reviewers accept e-books and pdf), and it will get reviewed (unless too awful). Great authors will get interviews and such. This is not only for self-pubbed books.
You can always edit your writing, but you cannot edit an empty page. Historical novel reviews
