Quote: Turnip, Tuesday, 31 Aug 2010 21:37and what about John Banville's The Infinities, where the rules of physics have been reinvented and cold fusion powers cars with seawater? Misfits and malcontents but no main protagonist, omniscient narrator of the Greek god Hermes. Maybe he's the MM. I love the sound of that. Is it any good?

It was the Kerry Listowel prize winner this year Banville Infinities Kerry 2010 prize winnerwhich irked me a bit because one of my tutors, John McKenna, was short listed. If you like real literary fiction then it's good. Set in an alternative fairly modern Ireland. The same book was also a finalist in the 2009 Bad Sex Award!
