Thanks Brian. As always, your reviews are kind and encouraging. ‘Ran a stop street’ is just the venacular for – ‘the idiot failed to stop at the stop street.’ Could you please answer a question for me regarding the conjuctive ‘and’? I have a vague recollection from my schooldays, that being a conjuctive one did not put a comma after a word preceding ‘and’. Is this correct and if so, has the rule changed? I’ve noticed this more and more often in today’s writing and would like to have your learn’ed opinion. Yes, I know there’s no apostrophe in learned but I don’t know how to put the accent on the e!
Cheers
Rebecca
