"
Night Fighters Wartime stories are not my favourite, but this got my interest. The settings are skilfully evoked and the action moves along at a good pace. I found the different characters well drawn and believable.
In the first few paragraphs I got to know Dunn, Allen and the others enough to be affected when they are shot down. I liked the element of surprise and the sense of something going on with the Vulture’s unusual methods of attack.
I thought these chapters were well written, giving enough information to keep the story moving along and at the same time referring to certain details that keep the reader’s interest, such as Crowe’s problems, Raithe’s privileges, the tensions between the Morgan and Crowe’s group and their ‘new squadron mates’.
I want to keep reading to find out what happens and how they all get on."
