“
Martine's view Awesome! I really enjoyed your chapters. Your powers of description are superb, your prose is concise and controlled. Very well done. The character’s voice seems authentic; a young man who is truly, bitterly angry with the world and with what life has dealt him. Considering this tale is told in present tense, a difficult feat and not a style I particularly like, I was thoroughly impressed.
From the story so far, this book is definitely not for the reader who prefers a feel-good tale. It’s gritty, hard and uncompromising. The main character, while capable of a great deal of violence, is nevertheless likeable, being the underdog who won’t take his beating. Despite this, he’s at the mercy of his situation, and has suffered from it his whole life, which I imagine will give him the strength and determination to help him cope with whatever follows ..”
