Dear Fellow Tappers, I've been on the kindle platform with my YWO novel 'Death in Holy Orders' for almost a month now. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006K2586S I have accurred 400 uploads and made a little money in the process. If you have any questions you'd like to ask I'll do my best, based on my experience to answer them for you. Just to kick off - the writings the best bit but you have to crack the marketing. Why not consider looking at the KDP Select promo? Okay, what are you waiting for? Tap away- now!

Hi Draig, the shortest questions are by far the most difficult to answer. Becoz you've not elaborated I can only give you a broad response. If you want some more info or I haven't answered as you wished please ask on. KDP is an internet facility that allows writers to upload their work onto a platform that facilitates Kindle owners to download stories of their choice by either buying them or (in the USA) borrowing them without a return date for a fee of approx $80 pa. All this is done via the internet. What's in it for writers? 1. An opportunity for new previously unpublished writers to reach a large reading public. An opportunity for established writers to make more sales at a higher royality level (35% + &0%) 2. A chance for new writers to gain some traction in developing a following as reward for the sweat and strain of hours of typing more often than not alone. Conclusion- my experience has taught me that there is a thrill and sense of achievement knowing that my work is being read by over 400 people who have chosen to pay for my book beyond the other estimated 450 000 on the same platform and what's more I don't have to suffer the ignominy of rejections from agents or publishers who have full lists of preferred authors who they cant shift, that is sell for whatever reason. It's a difficult world in which to succeed or get any form of recognition due to the sheer number of writers in all sectors. KDP has facilitated that success for me. I'm up and running and it feels great after years of getting upto the start line but never getting a chance to run the race.

Just Google Amazon KDP, Glenn, there's loads of info on there. if you have problems with formatting I can help you with that or send you details of an idiot proof way to do it. The charge of $80 doesn't apply to the writer by the way, it's a charge for Prime members in the US who wish to borrow books that are on the Select programme. There's been a lot of info on this site in various threads about uploading your work to Kindle and other e formats and many of us have been doing it for twelve months or more and are enjoying great sales. Email me if you want any further info. Cheers, Pam. pam.waltonhowes@btopenworld.com

Hi Pam I am also in the KDP programme, but do you know if there is any way to track how many people (if any in my case!) are borrowing your book? I can't seem to find anything on the site related to this. Regards Linda
