Boondoggles Well, what a delightful mix of Kafka, Yes Minister and Dixon of Dock Green. I often find that beautiful ideas are poorley executed (like high concept movies), but not this. You have an effortless, fluent style that makes your prose positively race by.
If I have a niggle it's that this is so stylised I didn't feel I could justify the full five for story or character, but you certainly get it for everything else, and others may disagree with my assessment of these categories - personally I want just a few more layers and hinted underbellies to give these fives. Nonetheless, you create a world that I could happily inhabit for a long time, although I can't help feeling it would be better as a TV show in the Last of the Summer Wine mould, whihc you'll either take as a compliment or a slight - the former is intended.
