About to upload two kindle novels this week hopefully. Could you answer the following for me? Ta

1) Do you have to have paypal or can you get royalties paid straight into your bank?
2) Advice on price setting - will it automatically set $ equivalent for USA?
3) I assume you don't need any ISBN numbers? What happens if one of the books is in print & has an ISBN number, does it transfer over to kindle version?
4) What sort of thing are you offered on your amazon author page? How does it link with your amazon page for print books - is it clever enough to take you there rather than set up a new page?
"A,B&E", "Not In My Name" and "52FF" (flash fiction anthology) all available on Amazon Kindle

1) No. Royalties are paid to my bank in the UK (you can set the amount. I think the smallest is ten pounds), but USA will pay via cheque every $100 made.
2)Yes, choose UK, the USA will automatically be set.
3) You don't need any ISBN, that is for a print version. Kindle will give you a new (ASIN) number.
5) I've an author page (of sort), but not looked too hard into what it does. If someone clicks on your name, it will take them to your author page.

Have you looked into formatting the books differently to the print version? My advice is to delete as much "white space" as you can.

Good luck.

Hi Sulcus, everything Louise says above, but don't forget to remove your page numbers and when you do your bank details they also ask for your IBAN and BIC numbers too for your UK account. The bank gave me mine as I have paperless statements and they are apparently on the paper ones. You get paid for the first time at the end of the third month and then each month following. Good luck.

Brilliant thanks guys, every answered for me.

Yes Louise, I've got clean text, so went through reformatting print version (and taking chance to re-edit too, having learned some things about the book through doing live readings).

The other book isn't print published. It has lots of formatted forum chats and blogs and the like in it, so was a bit of a nightmare to sort out, but hopefuuly am there now.

Yes, I did, the first time I loaded. Half of the text, even where indents shouldn't be, moved across to the centre. Is that what's happening?

Yes, exactly that. How did you overcome it?

Which guide have you used for formatting? I used Lexi's copied from her blog. She uses mobi pocket. But the indents at the beginning still almost all vanished for me. There simply weren't any, although no one has complained and many of the Kindle's I've read are the same. It seems to be a common problem. The only one they stayed correct in is the Smashword's meat grinder thing. I can send you a copy of Lexi's info if you mail me. It's basic but there might be something in it that you're missing. All of Lexi's novels look fine as regards indents so it could just be me not doing it right.
