I'm a Southerner. That's what JAFAs call 'inbreds', which is actually true and is why I'm more susceptible to bowel cancer than the average population. There were so few early settlers back in the mid 1800s that sisters from one family married brothers of another because there was no other choice! But I've never been attracted to a sheep. Not unless it was covered in mint sauce. Oh and as a Southerner, I'd say you have to visit the South Island because if you don't, you can't say you've been to New Zealand... Only technically!

My niece lives and got married in New Zealand. I believe that there is a very socialistic system of government? Is this all funded by the sale of lamb?

Only one chamber in the NZ Parliament I believe. So, without all those Lords carrying out their checks and balances, socialism is bound to creep in.

Yes I'd say so. Labour was in for three terms but now it's a National government. Nevertheless, it's more socialist than Australia, where medical care is expensive, there's a big difference between the quality of public and private schooling and no free childcare for pre-schoolers (in this state, at least). New Zealanders are taxed very heavily.

Lin Lee, Hey, girl I think I'm winning on this issue. Damn, I think that might also make me the loser!
