My blood pressure is rising, sleep is eluding me and my writing has gone to pot. . .
I have two ways of judging a 'future' international result, and with my heart, I know Wales will beat France . .
But with my head . . .Can Roberts cope with Harinodoquy . . . ? will Halfpenny remain steady under the barrage of high balls. . .
On the other hand Rougerie has not long recovered from horrendous injury and I am not sure about Morgan Parra . . maybe I should be pleased that Trinh Duc is NOT first choice. .
And if James Hook is at his best the game is probably ours. . . but can he be as steady as Rhys Priestland?
Oh hell, my 1500 word per day count is just a joke. . .
Still it only happens once every 4 years. . .except after Xmas, the 6 Nations. . .

Normally I would cheer on the team that puts England out (it's a bit like being absorbed by the Borg) but as the Home Nations C team has done so well I will probably be happy to see them win.

Thanks, Ant. We need all the support we can get. Leigh will cope, he's young, fast and fearless. And Hook is the better option I think - he's a great player, tough, strong and imaginative. I'm so excited, it's embarrassing. I'm on-call though. I so hope my phone breaks or something.

Oooooooooooooh, C team is it? Well, France beat Ireland 26-22 in the warm ups and Wales beat Ireland 22-10 when it meant something, and the Irish tend to pay more attention. Comparing the games, I pretty much think Wales are going to trounce France. I know we would have, so you'd better.

England, Scotland and Ireland are out. That in itself is an accomplishment and with the pressure off I see Wales winning by a huge score. Keep the faith, Dai Bach.

Lean out a window while making a call on Friday night - oops, and Rhobert's your uncle, isn't it?

Lean out a window while making a call on Friday night - oops, and Rhobert's your uncle, isn't it? I've been trying to pretend I'm indifferent to the whole thing. Wandering around saying, 'I don't know what the fuss is about, it's just a game.' That way, they may not get suspicious when I drop my phone down the loo at 8.30 tomorrow morning. But the truth is - the whole town is buzzing. The Millennium is packed out to watch on the big screen, there is a real belief they can do it. Even those who don't follow the game are getting caught up in the atmosphere.

Oh God I wish I was in Cardiff, or at least on the way there.
or even better, Eden Park. . . but a choice between Cardiff and Eden? Not easy.
And. living as I do in the most Rugby conscious area of France, it is probably better if I watch it at home. . . .
Trying not to grit my teeth when my wife asks why a man is offside at a loose maul, or why it takes so long to kick at goal, or why I want a different referee to Rolland. . . .
Self restraint boy, that's the slogan for today and tomorrow.
BUT, when the game is over and Wales have won, there will be an ebullient outburst of joy . . .
Except Harinordoquoy does bother me. . . .

"If we play the same as we did against England, it won't be enough to beat the Welsh." Harinordoquy.
