All those for a minimum of 15-20 reviews to enter the TT, post here. For reasons why this would be a GOOD thing, see the previous thread. Is this okay, Notleyab? x

My vote too, one of the best ideas I have seen on the message board since I started. Ted, could you please respond to this one? David Powell If you are bemused by this read the thread 'What is the average score for the top 10, under Literary Forums

You can count me in too. I like the idea of keeping the tt a secret as well. Oh and, can we have a way of seeing all the reviews that a particular person has made. Ummm.
I deleted my sig.

My vote is to scrap the charts... To paraphrase Groucho Marx, "I wouldn't be part of any mob that would have me in its ranks"

If you're relying on numbers to press your point, remember that the majority of YWO members don't contribute to the forums, so Ted will in all likelihood count them as voting against... But hey, that's how democracy rolls right? See all demonstrations ever...

Quote: sulcus, Friday, 13 May 2011 17:23My vote is to scrap the charts... To paraphrase Groucho Marx, "I wouldn't be part of any mob that would have me in its ranks" Ah, you old anarchist you. But, if you scrap the charts you'd have to scrap the pro-crits too . . . and before you leap in, some people have found them very useful. Those that expect a full manuscript request and a publishing deal are bound to be disappointed, but comments from someone in the industry (if you want to be a commercial writer) can be a useful thing. At the very least, it enables you to iron out problems that an agent might also pick up on, giving you a better crack of the whip at getting signed. So, m'lord, that's why I say, keep the chart but perhaps there could be ways to make it work better. x
