So we get to live to eighty if you're (un)lucky. But at what cost? 10k years ago you might make it to forty but at least you were free. Kill an aurox then spin your thumbs for the rest of the week or go build a stone circle. Looking forward to the fossil fuels running out - no mortgage, utility bills, car tax, mot... No corrupt, greedy, do as I say not as I do government. Better shut my mouth or I'll be jailed for starting a riot. Shoplifters of the world, unite and take over... (The Smiths) White riot, I wanna riot, white riot, a riot of my own... (The Clash) I am an anti-Christ! I am an anarchist! (Sex Pistols) No I'm not really, I'm not brave enough, but if you are don't let me stop you.

if you take a closer look at the way things really stand, you'll see we're all just niggers to the rulers of this land (Crass).

If I'd put this on facebook a couple of weeks ago, would I be in jail now? Why haven't Morrissey, Strummer (he's dead but you get my point) and Lydon been arrested?

Sorry. Just a bit pissed off with EVERYTHING. Didn't mean to shout.

Our local robin does not see me as civilised at all - he thinks I'm an aurochs.
I wrote this about the matter; it might help:

Bos taurus primigenius

You can learn things sat concealed
behind a screen of runner beans
twined up bamboo poles and strings.

A hopping robin picks at bits
below the courgette leaves and kale.
Nonchalant, he works closer

till he stops two feet away.
He’s eyeing me with interest - as if
I represent a possibility.

Perhaps he’s been doing this
since the end of the last ice age -
always keeping company with ponderous,

earth-tearing mammals and making
a useful sort of living, off small things
that flit around their ancient feet.

For him, I’m not a gardener,
I’m a great, horned forest ox,
a lumbering, trampling aurochs.

Did you write this yourself? I'm impressed. I can't even spell aurochs - aurox?

Yes, it's one of mine - but my runner beans are rubbish this year.

You're not the only one with rubbish beans. First they were knodked back badly by late frost, and sulked for weeks, then the drought did them no good at all. The last thing I want now is an aurochs (how many nouns have a singular ending in 's'? It sounds weird) trampling through them.

Hey, I'm trying to start a revolution here. What's beans got to do with sedition?

What's an aurochs?

Haven't got beans, only tomatoes - well, tomato plants - 8 of them - and about the same number of green, tiny, round things that I think may be tomatoes - one day - if the sun ever shines.

Sorry, Draig. Up the revolution!!!

Too late, you've killed my revolution. An aurochs is an ox about 12 feet tall that lived in the UK a few thousand years ago. My toms are still green, something to do with the coldest summer for 18 years. They predicted the hottest summer since '76 - politicians and meteoroligists are the biggest bullshitters since the aurochs!

So now its beans AND tomatoes. I'm losing this thread!

Ah, that would explain why I've never seen one then - too young. Yipee!

Glad I'm not the only one with rubbish tomatoes.

Wrap the best in a tea-towel and put them in a drawer for a week - that's what I've been doing to turn them red.

The workers flag is deepest red . . . etc.

Next year I plan to manure mine with aurochs dung - but maybe I'll just go to the grocers..
