Title : Imprisoned AngelsAuthor : Susie Holmes
Genre : Teenage Fiction, Women's Fiction
SynopsisHe’s a young, American, prisoner-of-war at the notorious Exmoor Prison. She’s a seventeen-year-old dental nurse at the prison. She knows he’ll die if he remains there. But how can she help him to escape when iron bars and two hundred years of history separate them?
My thoughts:It's very rare to read something that feels like the finished product. This does.
The timeless premise eschews current fashions in children's literature. It doesn't dumb down, so it's sophisticated enough for an adult to enjoy, while absorbing, richly inventive and educational for a child.
I honestly didn't think it would be my cup of tea, but it's absolutely... brilliant.
Kudos to you, Susie Holmes!
