The only reference to crows per se is
"To the east, a murder of crows flapped about a field."
The only reference to the "Pinky" to which you allude is:
"‘I reckon Pinks is out and about causing trouble again,’ said Mr Perkins, pointing at the empty nest across the track."
IN NO WAY IS HE IDENTIFIED AS A CROW. Considering the variety of feathered fauna we have even in our world he could be anything from a sparrow to a shrike.
And again - your question refers to a crow being talked TO, not ABOUT.
If you want to play guessing games in your Reading Test, or seek out psychics, that's up to you. Pardon me for being helpful and whether it's rest or inn is immaterial to me.
The point was valid.
I was giving you a heads up.
You might try actually reading your own story - and thanks for yours.
