If you're bored try this...
http://iwl.me/

Put in your text and see who you write like

Obviously a very serious and useful tool!

I analysed each of my first five Chapters

Now Vladimir Nabokov is a fine writer, but being compared to him for the first chapter of a children's book is a bit worrying.

Here are the results:

A White Russian
Two Americans
and an Irish Author

Bit disappointed I didn't get an English one

I'd be intrigued to see what anyone else gets.
(Turnip, bet you don't get James Joyce!)

I got Charles Dickens for a children's historical novel. Not much hope for me, I fear.

Decided to do another 5 chapters, and got:

Arthur Conan Doyle
James Joyce
Margaret Atwood
William Shakespeare
Daniel Defoe

I think I'd better quit while I'm ahead! Good fun though, and beats working.

I tried a bit from the middle of my book, and got Harry Harrison - never read him, but I've a feeling someone once said my writing was like his.

Then I tried the start of my book, and got bally Vladimir Nabakov. Dear oh dear.
