Hi
I just joined and I have a story that is too short!!
If anyone has time to take a look I would appreciate it, and of course take a look at your story too.
Bestest wishes,
Sam

Hi Samantha and welcome to YWO. Short stories only need to be 2500 words long, so you are well within limits. Stories for younger children often fall short of that, whereas, I struggle to come within 5000. As you receive reviews, you will probably adjust your work. Keep reading, assign credits to your story one at a time and bank the rest. Good luck with your writing.

Actually you're wrong, Andrew. There is a minium word count, as Samantha has found when she tried to upload her story which is only just over 1500 words.

Samantha, I've noticed others put more than one story up at a time to get around this, or even make up the rest with greek'. Obviously you need to point that out at the beginning of your upload. Hope that helps.

...., or even make up the rest with greek'. .

I'd advise against this.
Eventually the ECB steps in, you have to cut pensions, forgo all holidays for the next 1,000 years & Gerrmany ends up running yr budget....
Simple way: Just paste the same excerpt in twice & tell people why you are doing it.

Ah, you’re right, 1500 is short. That’s why I failed my eleven plus, never read the questions! The problem is how do you critique something that length? You could stick two short, short stories on one post, but not really in the spirit of things.

Heya.

Thanks for the help. I don't know any Greek so I did what you suggested and poasted the story in twice.

Already had a review. Exiting, isn't it!

Sounds like a good one, too.
But do explain at the top why you posted 2X, otherwise you're likely to keep getting the same comment abt making a mistake.

I'd rather not bother them with my problems before they have even started to read my story!

I have put a note in at the end of the story to ignore the second version.
