I've been a big fan of Glee for its undeniable quality of talent, decent storyline, and exceptional characters - particularly Sue Sylvester, Santana Lopez and Brittany Pierce.
I was disproportionately - I thought for a moment - annoyed when someone wrote the line for Santana recently to be directed at McGinty's character: "Shut your potato hole [...]"

It was throwaway, sure - but it's offensive that they deal so sensitively and profoundly with a range of discriminatory issues only to gloss over the age-old demeaning of the Celts.

This is so typical of people hailing from that very background (Murphy and Brennan), which is why this racial trashing prevails in the more monstrous form.

If minor infractions are accepted, the spores of contempt will continue spread and colonise.

I suspect that's because you regard it as fluff.

Yes, let's settle on the word 'fluff'...
