The following is my personal list of books currently rated between 20 and 30, which in my humble opinion, should be ranked much higher. They are a cross-section of the work presented on this site and so, convey the variety and diversity of the talent of our members. Thank you to all these authors for sharing their work.

20: Good for Him by J. R. Minett (a gem)
24: Tatanka 'Spirit Walker' by Virgil W Foutz (fascinating)
25: Heartsease by Peridote (beautiful)
25: In the future this will not be necessary by Paul Samael (witty)
26: Layla Bunch by Sharon Spencer Schlesinger (original)
26: A Tale of Two Sisters by Ray Forde-Stent (hilarious)
27: Maximus by Christine Elaine Black (gritty)
30: Auld Lang Syne by John A Vikara (touching)

Safia - wow, you made my day!

... runs around excitedly... "Safia thinks my story is beautiful" ... LOL

There are so many wonderful works on here, I've read some of these but not all.

And of course there is your own "The Truck Road" at 30. Such an intriguing portrayal of life.

Thank you and best wishes,
Peridote

Thank you so much for your faith. I took a section from the middle of this novel to form a short story, and woke up today to find it at no. 1. I don't suppose it will stay in such an ideal position but I am enjoying it while I can. Are you proved to be a good finder? X

Well, I am absolutely delighted for you. I remember very well reviewing 'Good For Him' and when I saw your name at Number 1, plus the read feed, I wondered if the short story was a rewrite.

I will read it again for sure - I'm only surprised it took so long, but it proves the point that rewriting and reposting is sometimes worth it.

Oh, and let's just say - I like to think I have good taste!

All the best.

Chicory - I just noticed you have another credit attached already. Staying in the Top Ten is a precarious business. I would advise you to only attach a credit when you absolutely need to, ie, every 7 days - your writer's page will contain a reminder of when it must be done. Just bank them until needed.

Many thanks, Safia. I was actually on the deadline so I had to, but I will certainly take your advice. Only at 14 today. Would be nice to have a publisher's review. I got a feedback when GFH got to no. 8 (3 for one day).

A Relative Loss is a short story adapted mainly from the middle with the names changed. It struck me that I could make a short story out of it.
