Hey everyone. Here's a little progress report on how I'm doing with Venom. Since I finished Venom's edits, a little over a week ago, I did one more round from Prologue to Epilogue in a week and cut a little over 200 words. Venom's final word count is 109, 658 words, or as I put, around 110, 000. So no more edits.

Last week, I've sent out eight equeries out. I've gotten one rejection on Monday night and a partial ms "bite" on Thursday afternoon for 20 pages, via email or mail. I'll be emailing them my partial tomorrow morning. (I queried one agent from this agency and heard from another.) I'm having trouble compiling my document from Scrivener into a document--Word doesn't work, since I don't have it, RTF gives me no page break/headers/page numbers. So I might have to copy/paste from Scrivener to Open Office in the meantime, until I can figure it out or buy Iworks/Pages. I'll be doing equeries with sample pages/chapters that aren't attachments in the meantime.

As for the agent I pitched to last fall, that I've told you about, I haven't heard from her yet, since I equeried her last Monday morning. There's 5 weeks left in her response time, between now and mid-October. I'll be sending out 10 equeries this week, once I unpack my notebooks, when I can find that box. Once things settled down, I might be back in late September to review again. Until then, I'll be back this weekend with another update.
