Hello everyone,

Just wanted to pass on my recommendation for FINN, by author Jon Clinch. I am stateside and Clinch's debut novel just came out. It is about the dark character of Pap, Huckleberry Finn's father. For us Americans, Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain, was and is a staple of Language Arts classes and American literature classes - not to mention the character himself is embedded in our country's historical, albeit legendary, past.

I attended a local literary festival at which Jon Clinch spoke with his agent, Will Murphy from Random House. His website is jonclinch.com and I mention this because it is a great example of marketing at work on a writer's behalf. Check it out.

Also, the novel is superb in its wielding of metaphor to set tone, develop character, and create theme. A teaching tool, if you will, for all writers seeking to learn more about the craft.

Just thought I'd share.
Best regards,
Lisa
