Paulb suggested this as a place to discuss cricket. There seem to be lots of nationalities represented on here, so at the risk of getting some poor reviews for supporting the wrong team, I would say that:
I hope Australia beat India at Sydney, although it is probably India's best venue for a potential win.
I think South Africa will beat Sri Lanka at Newlands, although as I live in Sri Lanka I will be supporting them.
As I am actually English, it's good for us for SA and India to lose because then England's current number one ranking will not be under threat for a while. Also, although it is not seen to be the right thing to do, I do cheer on Australia. Having been brought up watching the great Australian teams of the 90s and 00s I want to see them rise from the ashes again.
Cricket and writing should go hand in hand. A test match lasts 5 days, lots of time to read and write in front of the TV.

I support England. Can't write during a test match though. Sometimes, can barely tear myself away to make a cup of tea. My three daughters and I will sit and watch all five days if work allows. Hubby and son prefer football - silly them.
Love The Ashes best. Have a sneaky affection for Australia because of the banter that goes on. Miss the days of Vaughan and Flintoff though. Don't mind who wins in Aus/India really. Talking of cricket makes me long for the summer.

That's absolutely brilliant. I wish my wife showed such an interest in cricket. We're even friends with some of the sri lankan team (as colombo is a very small place) but i can't get her to watch! She is now pregnant so if we have a daughter I hope she has the interest in cricket your daughters do. I don't really write in front of cricket. Just tried to find some link to YWO. Thanks for the reply. Yes, there is nothing like the Ashes. Still follow Vaughan's banter on twitter and they will all be in sri lanka soon.

I support Channel 4. I don't get to see any cricket since it went satellite.

Ah yes, fair point! In Sri Lanka they show every single match ever played.

Ha ha. If you ever get assigned my story, you may want to skip the first few lines then.

Hi, looks like it was the bowlers' day. I follow Australia but I'm not as well informed as I used to be. I come from a time when Merv Hughes and Allan Border were the names that rolled off the tongue. Paul ps: can somebody tell me how contributors manage to get quotes into white boxes - I'm afraid I'm pretty thick at this sort of thing.
