Am I being Mrs. Stupidy Head? Life on hold for the past seven weeks. Checking message board approximately every fifteen minutes. Children living on beans and hotdogs. Husband's suitcase has ominously appeared from loft.

Have I somehow missed the Random House Reviews for March? Are they posted in a secret location known only to those with top security clearance? If so, can someone put me out of my misery? Suspense is killing me...

If it has been posted, I've missed it too. Think they must just enjoy keep us on tenterhooks.

Bugger. Was holding on to faint hope that reviews were in and I'd just missed them somehow. I'm so jumpy it's ridiculous.

To be honest, I feel a mild sense of relief whenever I see they're still not there!

Know what you mean! At least when you don't know there's always a possibility that response will be good. Far better that than worst nightmare scenario of Random House person turning round and saying: 'What were you thinking? Writer? Good story? Ho! Ho!' Though obviously not going to do that in your case - loved 'Almost Perfect Plan' BTW - couldn't resist having a sneaky peak at another kids writer's work...

But it's got to the stage now where I can't do anything. I'm thinking about it constantly - breaking off mid conversation to go and check message board and can't focus on all the stuff I'm supposed to be doing. Had a long list of things I was supposed to get done this weekend and have succeeded in doing none of them. Just have to console myself with large white chocolate magnum..

Mmm, white chocolate Magnummmmm.
Meanwhile here it's nearly 10.30pm so I should be thinking Ovaltine (urg) not Magnum. As to those pesky reviews, the last few I read (was it last month or the month before?) seemed so harsh that I've pretty much resigned myself to being taught a painful lesson ... every extra day without them feels like a bonus. Even so, if they're not in soon, I'll start eating Magnums just cause you've now given me an excuse!
And thanks for your kind words about AAPP. Feels so long ago now, I can barely remember it!

Haven't quite gone yet. Just occurred to me that you were the month before me, weren't you? I assumed the March ones were all done ... maybe you should check with Ted. Were you asked for a synopsis?

Yep. Synopsis sent off and Ted acknowledged receipt. I think maybe just a funny couple of months here with all the bank holidays etc. we've had. Maybe Random House are snowed under releasing a spiffing new title and it's all hands on deck. Anyway, daughter now prying my hands from keyboard so she can finally get to be a penguin again. Well done again, Willow. Sleep well and dream of large ice creams and even larger advances!
