Does anyone know if there is one for jelly-fish? When asked I suggested a sting. I like it but don't think it's correct.
On the subject, here are a few of my favourites;
A skulk of foxes. A leap of leopards. A kindle of kittens. An exaltation of larks. A labour of moles.

"A,B&E", "Not In My Name" and "52FF" (flash fiction anthology) all available on Amazon Kindle"How a psychopath makes sweet love. I can get you ringside. Royal box even."

Or a shine of Moons - the type my friend had found. Or a tent - as in tentacles. Do they have those, or just suckers? DC

I like 'a murder of crows' and 'a parliament of owls'.
No idea about jellyfish though.

Joe, is that a suggestion or what you actually think it is? gobbet (plural gobbets) 1.a quantity of liquid, often in a sticky blotch 2.a lump or chunk of something, especially of raw meat I can sort of see where you are coming from with the sticky blotch. I believe it's a fluther (also spelled flother) of jellyfish. My favourites are a watch of nightingales, a shrewdness of apes, a sneak of weasles and a skirl of pipers. We used to have to learn lists of these at junior school. I don't suppose they're taught these days.

It's a shame collective nouns aren't being taught - if that's the case - as they are a fun way to get children interested in words. DC
