The forest here is just as vital a story element as your story’s hard-boiled "gum-shoe" (or should that be pine-pitcher?) sleuth-protagonist. And I really appreciate the spot on edits. I read all my stuff out loud (which catches a goodly amount of flotsam) but stuff does get through. So thank you for catching it. I'll make those changes today.
