I've just noticed the position of my books and wondered what they are based on. One of mine is 27. Is that out of 100? Two hundred? Thirty?

I think they just count up from number 1 until they run out. Of course when many books share the same average score, they all count as number 15 or whatever, which mean that those at number 16 are really probably number 40
"A,B&E", "Not In My Name" and "52FF" (flash fiction anthology) all available on Amazon Kindle

I have asked this very same question numerous times in the past and never received an answer. Ted would be the one to reply, but he never does. To add to the confusion, books which are "dead" but not deleted gather at the bottom, even if they had high marks. Once you are past rank thirty or forty the picture gets distorted. Take it as it is, if you are Top Ten, that's easy, but being on page 2, means 11-20, you are already in the range where agents could pick you up.
You can always edit your writing, but you cannot edit an empty page.
