In Ireland the term 'hot press' is used for airing cupboard. That sounds like a kenning to me since the cupboard is usually built over the boiler or hot water tank.

rattle trap - noise maker, old noisy automobile.
hawg leg – pistol
chicken hawk - supervisor,one who watches workers closely.

cancer stick - cigarette.

I've heard all of these used. I don't know if they are all kennings.

I don't know about hot press. It seems to be a noun and a descriptive adjective. heat press?
