Congratulations to the September top tenners. Short stories get four of the top five places, but where does this leave the novels? Only the top 3 novels get pro crits, so will a couple of books that haven't made the Best Sellers get pro crits?

Well done everyone!

Hi Sue

I'm not sure how all this works now. For ages is was just novels which received the prof. crits. but did it change last month?

It seems now one novel gets an in depth and the short stories get minis. So 'Idunno Jenkins' should get the in depth.

Have a look at last month's (thread above thank you forum) and see what you make of it.

No, the top three novels get an indepth crit, even if they don't get transferred to the Best Sellers, so that'll be Idunno Jenkins, Salop House and the Parent Prize.

I think it just so happened that the editor doing the pro crit of '13' also happened to be doing some of the 'mini reviews' won be the remaining top ten. As I understand it, there are 3 pro crits to be had each month, all of which go to novels. The remaining 7 top tenners get the mini reviews, whether they're short stories or novels. I may be wrong.

Correct and many congratulations to the Top Ten, and thank you to everyone for their stories and reviews in August.

The summer version of the YWO homepage will remain for a bit to encourage an indian summer for our weather.
