I've enjoyed the forums on Amazon.uk and decided to head over to Amazon.com and I can't believe the negativity over there.

It seems that the word "Indie" and "low-life murderer" are on par with one another!

Think I'll stick to the UK.

They're not very friendly, are they, Louise? That's why a lot of them come over to us for a bit of banter. Mind you, you get the odd one policing those, too. By and large though they're a great bunch, the brits, that is. Some of the specific Indie forums in .com are quite good. I've met friendly sorts on there. Since I stopped promoting on .com my sales have dropped drastically in the US. They were really good for months, and then dropped to a trickle. I think we have to grow a thick skin and ignore them and think of our pockets instead.

I can't believe the hostility. Well, I've had enough of them. Let them keep the forum to themselves and they can wallow in their nastiness all they want!

I received an email from admin at Amazon.com saying that I was not to mention my own books in any discussions. If I did it again, my right to join in discussions would be taken away! Right, thank you very much for your support, Amazon...

Lynne, I'm not allowed to post at all anymore. They've tightened up for whatever reason. I wouldn't mind, but I hardly ever see you on the forums or your promos. There's a thread called disappearing promos and authors etc started by Louise, using a new name. That will tell you who else has been told no more promos. The sickening thing is, they happily take 65% of our royalties, but are clamping down on author promotions. It's going the same way .com did a few months ago. Makes no sense.

It's crazy, Pam. It's Amazon.com that emailed me. I didn't know Amazon UK was at it too! What harm are we doing? If we increase our sales, they benefit! I'll never understand it. C'est la vie I suppose, but we're only doing our best to promote our books. Sheesh!

It just means we'll have to help each other out. I'm not sure what the reasoning is behind not allowing authors to pitch for their own books. I don't know if I can plug a novel I haven't read, but I'm more than happy to step in for those I have. If you see a discussion come up at Amazon.com and think it will help, just point me in the right direction. Lynne, I've read both of yours (purchased for my niece, but I'm a big kid at heart :lol and Pam, I've read yours as well. Loved them all.

Thanks, Denna. I think you can recommend reads and add the links to the books. I'll have a look and see where would be the best place to go. Lynne, I'll drop you a message on FB as I want to ask you something.

Thanks very much, Denna. I know I can always depend on you. Thanks for thinking of me with the new Facebook site too, Pam. We writers really need our friends!

You've been banned from Amazon? I'm liking you better all the time.
