Vive La France!
Is it only me and Nick who want them to win? Doubt they will but so hope they do.
And no, Chickin, it's not just because they're gorgeous (although they are). It's because: They're nearer to us than N.Z. I like the stroppy French. They're the underdogs. I like to watch them play rugby. And most of all because everyone hates them - being English, I can relate to that!
Off to warm up me croissants. Mange tout, mange tout, as Del Boy would say.

Stuff that! After the French wee wee themselves from watching the Haka, the ALL BLACKS are going to stomp all over their arses.

Think you're probably right.
Doesn't stop me hoping though!

The French are putting up an excellent fight. It's good to see it so close.
Marita, as an expat Kiwi does your heart beat faster whenever you hear the Haka? I'm really not the crying type, but the haka and the anthem always bring tears.
Homesick, much?

What a great game! Well done, Kiwis.
Glad France put up a bloody good fight though. Not exactly the walk-over everyone expected, was it?

Gosh. What is it with the All Blacks? Why do they play so brilliantly only to cock it up at the last hurdle? Unbelievable. They should have walked it.

I am so stressed out. Need to drink some camomile tea or something.
Yes, the French had a great game - better than the Kiwis maybe? At least now they've won Piri Weepu will be able to walk the streets of Auckland without requiring body guards.
I have to admit, that was the best possible result. If the French had got a thrashing there'd be no shutting the Kiwis up, but a win of one measly point should be enough to stop the crowing... Or maybe I'm underestimating the extent of rugby fanaticism back home. I shall find out in a few days' time.

No, they shouldn't. Piri Weepu had a bad game. But we tend to overestimate the differences between the teams - they're all world class players. I'm convinced that if every country had a war dance their game would be lifted by 25% or whatever. We had to do the haka at school and it's amazing what effect it has. (I'm not sure girls are meant to do the haka, but we were made to do it anyway.)

To be fair to the French that was the best they'd played so far, but it was against a very poor show by NZ. EDIT: I almost switched sides half way through. Almost.

You're probably right. I'm in awe at anyone who can get back off the ground after five men have jumped on them and that's the extent of my rugby expertise.
They might have had a poor game, but it was an excellent game to watch, don't you think?
